Explore the wider world of the St. Louis Killifish scene with our 3 external field trips! Each field trip will have an extra charge associated with it. You can select which field trips you wish to go on when registering for the convention!

Multi-Fishroom Tour

Friday, June 12th

St. Luis is home to some of the most impressive fishrooms in the country, with a ton of rare and unique fish species. This opportunity will give you the chance to explore a number of these otherwise private home aquariums first hand.

Fish Lab Tour

Friday, June 12th

Join Dr. Michi Tobler for a tour of his huge fish lab at our local University of Missouri, St. Louis (UMSL). Get the chance to see some rare fish that you won’t be able to see anywhere else! Dr. Tobler studies fish ecology and evolution in his facility that houses over 400 aquariums!

Local Fish Surveying

Bring your buckets, boots and dip-nets and join us for an excursion into St. Louis’ local aquatic ecosystem. Get a chance to see some of Missouri’s beautiful native killifish species in their natural environment. For liability reasons, all participants for the fish surveys will be required to have a valid Missouri fishing permit. One Day Permits can be acquired online or at a local Walmart.

The second trip will be less focused than the first, with the goal of searching for any native killifish we can!
