Swap
On Saturday June 13th, from 11am-1pm the AKA convention will be hosting an aquarium swap! Hobbyists will have their opportunity to hawk their fishy wares. You never know what exciting fish and plants might turn up at these swaps! Convention Registrants get in free at 11:00! This swap will open to the public at 11:30 with a $5 cover charge.
Selling Tables are limited and will be $25 each. So be sure to sign up early if you have fun fishy things you want to sell! Attendees who pre-register to the AKA convention will get first dibs at getting swap tables, so be sure to pre-register if you want a better shot at selling! Sellers are limited to only selling fish, plants and other live stock. If you are interested in selling dry goods, consider getting a vender table.
Swap tables are now available to people who register to the convention. You can purchase you swap at the same time as you sign up for the convention on the registration page. If you have already registered for the convention, please use the registration add on form.
Swap tables will be 8ft x 2.5ft. Sellers will be limited to 2 table each. If you need a larger selling space, consider getting a vender table. Tables are available to AKA Convention Registrants on a First Come Basis prior to May 15, 2026. After May 15 unrented tables can be rented by other independent vendors, clubs and businesses.

Auction
The Convention Auction will be Sunday, June 14, 2026 and is run by the Missouri Aquarium Society. It will be a standard auction with an auctioneer running a verbal auction throughout. There will be NO silent Auctions running.
Sellers must pre-register with the MASI’s Auction Chairman by an Email to Auction@MissouriAquariumSociety.com on a First-Come-First-Served basis and can begin requesting Seller numbers at 12:00 AM (Midnight) Saturday May 23. Each Seller is limited to 10 items and the total items will be limited to 200 non-killie lots.
The auction split is set before the auction and defined in the rules. Neither Sellers nor Buyers need to be a member of either the AKA or MASI to buy or to sell. Payments to Sellers will be
made electronically through PayPal or otherwise by check at the seller’s choice within 7 days of the close of the auction.
Only fish, plants or invertebrates will be sold. No hardware or dry goods will be sold as Auction items except those previously arranged as donations to the Convention. All Killifish will be sold prior to other fish, plants or invertebrates.
Convention Registrants may buy using their Convention Registration Badge with Registrant number. All other Buyers must register at the door to receive their Bidder’s number. There is no entry fee.
To bid on an item, hold the bidder number high until no longer wanting to bid. Call the auctioneer’s attention if he/she doesn’t see you. When the auctioneer says “SOLD”, items are sold by Missouri State Law!
A Seller’s sales are not applied to their purchases. All Buyers, Sellers included, must pay for purchases in full at the end of the auction. Payment by cash or credit card is accepted- a credit card surcharge of 3% will be charged.
Seller check in of lots to be sold begins at 9:00 AM and continues no later than 10:45 AM. Items submitted late may be sold at the end of the Auction at
the decision of the Auction Chair.
Buyer Check in at the door begins at 9:00 AM. Viewing of available lots begins at 10:00 AM.
Verbal Auction begins at 11:00 AM with the sale of AKA supplied New and Rare, and Show Fish, items donated to the by Convention by Vendors, then public lots beginning with Killifish.

Below are the labels for the auction. Sellers are LIMITED TO ONLY 10 ITEMS for the AKA auction.
Prohibited Fish
The following types of fish are not allowed at the 2026 AKA convention’s swap or auction.
Missouri State Law: No Missouri Native fish- Wild caught, tank raised, nor brought in from another state, may be sold at any time during the Convention.
Endangered Species: The AKA as an organization is dedicated to the conservation and maintenance of killifish, and follows the intent of CITES regulations and the U.S. Endangered Species Act. Thus, the following lists of species are prohibited within our programs, including this National Convention:

-Crenichthys baileyi grandis
-Crenichthys nevadae
-Cyprinodon bovinus
-Cyprinodon diabolis
-Cyprinodon elegans
-Cyprinodon macularis
-Cyprinodon nevadensis mionectes
-Cyprinodon nevadensis pectoralis
-Cyprinodon radiosus
-Empetrichthys latos
CITES Regulations: Brazilian killifish: Specifically no killifish from Brazil will be allowed in the Show, Auction or SWAP.
Monster Fish: MASI does not allow the sale, at swaps, auctions, and on social media, of fish or other animals that grow to an adult size to which they cannot live comfortably in a 200 gallon aquarium, meaning that they are able to access shelter within the tank and can fully turn around within the narrow dimensions. For most species, this means a maximum adult size of 14 inches. The final decision is up to the MASI Council appointed administrator of the event/platform involved. Such fish may be offered for free rehoming/rescue. An exception is made for Koi to live in large ponds.
-Examples of fish prohibited for sale within MASI include, but are not limited to: Arapaima, Redtail Catfish, Iridescent Sharks, Silver Arowana, Pacu, and Tiger Shovelnose Catfish.
Legally not allowed: Any fish, plant or other animal banned by Missouri or federal law are not allowed regardless of size.
